Carers Advocacy

As a Carer do you ever feel that you may need someone to help you put across your point of view to service providers such as Health or Northamptonshire County Council, Community Services?

If so then you may find an Advocacy Service will help, the definition of an 'Advocate' is:

"A person who defends or promotes a cause"

There are currently three organisations who provide an advocacy service for Carers, as well as ICAS (Independent Complaints Advocacy Service) who all work on a county-wide basis. These organisations can help you put together your thoughts and wishes and help you to put them across to services providers if you feel that you have not been treated correctly or you have a complaint against a service provider.
