Carers who support someone with a sensory impairment i.e. someone you has a visual, speech or hearing impairment can often benefit from support by organisations within the community. We would always recommend that the first point of call is the Sensory Impairment Team at Northamptonshire County Council, who can provide equipment for your home to enable the person you care for to live as independently as possible, they can be contacted on 0845 124 4500. Organisations based with the Voluntary or Community Sector can provide a holistic and comprehensive support service to compliment statutory provision for you as Carers as well as the people that you support.
