Do you have a child with special needs? - click here to find out more of some sports activities that may give you a break. ____________________
Do you have a child with a disability? Short break carers are all thoroughly checked and approved and have to attend an induction and preparation course. They are provided with ongoing training and support from an allocated Family Link social worker. This means parents can relax knowing that their child is in a safe environment with carers who can meet their individual needs, likes and dislikes. This allows parents to spend time with their other children or do things that they would not normally get the chance to do. Eligibility for Family Link is based on a Core Assessment which will be carried out by a social worker. If you are the parent or carer of a disabled child and your child has an allocated social worker from the Disabled Children’s Team (DCT), you should discuss your interest in Family Link with them. If you have no involvement with the DCT you should contact your local Children’s Referral Team:
